Information about the database

In compliance with Art. 3 of the Regulations governing the application of the Law on the Academic Staff Development in Republic of Bulgaria, ever since April 2011 NACID has been gathering information about the database concerning the defended dissertations and the list of habilitated persons in Republic of Bulgaria directly from the higher educational institutions and the science organizations accredited by the respective authority – the National Evaluation and Accreditation Agency (NEAA).

The database contains the following information:

• defended doctoral dissertations for the academic and educational degree of “doctor” (PhD) and the academic degree of “doctor of sciences” (ScD);
• individuals with academic position assignments of Chief Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, and Full Professor at the higher educational institutions and the science and R&D organizations.

The database includes only those dissertations, for which information cards have been submitted.

The database contains data from the Register of academic degrees and titles submitted by the Higher Attestation Commission and the Sirena Database maintained until March 2011.
