6.1. Issuance of Certificate of recognition
Academic recognition is an official written confirmation of the value of a higher education diploma or other similar document issued by an educational institution recognized by a competent state authority as part of the secular higher education system of the respective country. Recognition in NACID is certified by the issuance of a pattern certificate, in which the following data are entered:
- The name of the applicant, the identical civil number, the date and the place of birth, the citizenship;
- The recognized educational and qualification degree in the relevant specialty;
- The name of the foreign higher education institution and the name of the country in which the relevant higher education was completed;
- The completed specialty and the degree of higher education obtained from the relevant foreign higher education institution.
The applicant has the right to be issued only an electronic certificate, signed with an electronic signature, if he has made such a request.
The certificate of recognition of acquired higher education is valid only on the territory of the Republic of Bulgaria and does not provide its holder with rights that he or she can use in relations with third countries.
The certificate does not give access to professions for the practice of which there are special requirements defined by law or another regulatory act. For the regulated professions in Bulgaria, read more in section 2. Which are the competent recognition authorities?, step 2.2.
The certificate is protected by forgeries with a specific sign.
